Saint Paulia

Is there four seasons in Florida? We have flowers all around the year, trees are kind of always green, we have warm winter, we wear T-shirts all the time, we don't need a thick jacket.......but there is spring here.
Oak trees have flowers now. Maple trees have flowers and samaras now. Ducks will have chicks soon. Yellow trees started to bloom as if they know it's March. Local strawberries arrived. Grasses are greener.....
And my Saint Paulia always have most flowers in Spring. I have a collection of Saint Paulias in my Kitchen window. The original purple one is the strongest and have flowers through the year. This pink one, wine red one....blooms only in spring. How do they know Spring has come? How do they know spring from a warm winter?
