Dry Tortugas

Dry Tortugas National Park.....located 70 miles west of Key West, we took a tour boat on 7/15/10 for a day tour. 2 and a half hour ride one way. There's Fort Jefferson which occupied the biggest island - Garden Key - which constructed in 1846 and used as a prison too.

Dr. Samuel Mudd was convicted of conspiracy in the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln and sent to Fort Jefferson Prison in 1865. If you are interested in the history, go to
I am just thinking, that....if you are in prison cell and you have the view from it's window as beautiful as Dry Tortugas, and the Bush Key(above) with birds flying around - a paradise! - makes things more difficult or easier...comforting... to stay inside...???

Kumiko san,
How have you been?
Stopping by to say "hi", noticing it's almost a month since your last post..., traveling or been busy?
..see you later...
