Muscovy Duck, very popular duck here in Florida, we secretly call them ugly ducks...sorry! Their ducklings are very pretty and we wait for them every spring, and these are the first five I saw this spring! Because of the big birds, herons or Ibis?, not many of them survive the whole childhood.....like 2 or 3 out of 10 chicks will be teenagers , maybe. This mother looks pretty enough, but male ducks have bumpy red faces and are quite ugly....and aggressive.
どこにでもはびこって結構図々しいダッキーです。オスは特に、顔中ブツブツがついててとても醜いアヒルのコ、加えてひどくあつかましい。このママはまだ、かわいい方です。いつも春になるとヨチヨチお母さんにくっついて歩く姿が見られますが、この５匹（ヒヨコはなんて数えるんだ？）はこの春の最初の５匹です。１ダースちかくまとめて生まれるらしいけれど、白い大きな鳥に取られてしまったりして、去年も残ったのは２－３匹・・・・・頑張って醜い大人になりなさい？？
